Do they bother coral?

I thought they were considered not reef safe b/c they will eat any crustacean or bivalve that fits in their mouth.

They are considered to not be reef safe since they eat crustaceans. They can occasionally nip at some corals.

I've had porcupine puffers in various reefs with no major issues. They'll certainly decimate "clean up crews" and pick at some corals here and there, I've even had one suck up mushrooms and spit them back out. Overall if you can deal with some "rearranging" of coral and no CUC have at it. Great, super personable fish.
