Sorry to be naive, but just curious about the religious/christian influences on this site. Can someone give me some insight and/or background on this? I don't get the connection....

Really, no connection other than the owner, RevHtree, is actually a reverend.

just like any other site except in this case the owner is a pastor. BUT with that said never once have i seen this play any part in the way the site is ran. i have been here since the very start and not once has religion been pushed or been what this site is about.

some believe, some dont, but on this site i dont see that matering one bit. it will only be brought up if you bring it up IMO

Honestly it's one of the things I like about this place. I just feel "comfortable" here.

Hello everyone!

A little info about me.

I am an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God Denomination. Church of God International Offices - Home - Cleveland, Tennesse

I have been a Pastors kid since I was born. My dad, mom, 3 sisters, wife, brother in law, and 2 nieces all currently work in our church in some way or another.

I never try to force my beliefs on any one and never will. I will politely tell others about my beliefs if they want to hear it. I believe in making relationships with others which helps me more effectively share what I believe. We do have a prayer thread here at R2R but that is about the extent of it. I will gladly share with anyone who wants to PM me! :D

I sensed a vibe when I got here, but never seen any marketing or propaganda.

Everyone has something they believe in and how they believe the world should be. It is nice to all sit at same (virtual) table and let the ideas flow.

Maybe people here a little more civil because of Rev being a Rev, but i dont really get a religious vibe.

The only time i ever thought about anything religious what when the gentlemen passed away and their were some threads asking for prayers, but that is completely understandable.

you know, My fish have been a little lax on keeping kosher since i started posting here, All those mysis shrimp.

thanks for the info, rev. i grew up in non-denominational churches, probably very similar to the church of god. actually i was a commercial music performance major and played in several worship bands through high school and college. lots of vineyard style stuff during the toronto movement. been about 10 years now, though.

I don't catch that vibe and didn't even see anything about it untill I saw a prayer request thread like 2 days ago.... Although I got the praying hands with the roserie " catholic" tattoed on me I am also a Christian....I loved the tat and and the roserie just made it so I had to do it...;)
