I have a 220 mixed reef. Currently I am using 3 xr30 pro g4. I keep the lights pretty close together on an rms rail suspended from my ceiling. I keep them closer to the middle so the ends of my tank are kept a little darker to accommodate lower light corals. Right now I’m at 9” above the water with diffusers. I’d like to raise them a bit to 12”. If I raise them, are the diffusers still needed or will the additional height allow for better blending? I am currently running 70% of the schedule slider on wwc/ab* template, how much should I raise the schedule setting?

I’d just take the diffusers off and see. They’re easy to enough to pull off momentarily. You may not even need to adjust light intensity up at all because the diffusers probably cut 10-20% of your par plus a little more if you have a lid. If you happen to have a par meter you can check
