HAHA, they just out on the market a week.
The Gen 3 is the old Pro basically, you'll like your new light a lot.

Well UPS delivered late but I just got it today. Im stunned how great it is thus far. Love the EcoSmart Live also. Not disappointed at all except the power supply is still like a brick lol.

I have the radion gen 3 pro.. I only bought 1 fixture for now. I wanted to make sure I was going to like the light before I ordered another.. I have a 4 x 2 x 17" tall tank. I dont have many corals in it.. I have the light about 15" off the water line and it lights up the whole tank, there was no dark spots at all. Obviously I will eventually need another fixture, but for now. 1 will work for me.

Depends on the corals you keeping but as powerful the new Pro3 is you can just get the WAL and be done with it.

Btw, WAL......... Wide Angle Lens.

I was thinking that to.. That would be awesome if I could.. I mean it already covers the tank. I'm just not sure the PAR levels on the outer edges right now. Its just a mixed reef. Mainly LPS zoas and such. I do have an anenome, but it is right under the light. I have a zoa frag that is on the outer edge, It hadn't opened in a month or so.. Since i got the radion over the tank, It has opened..

You can't go wrong and the par should be good after I was reading the test results that Ecotech send me after they photo shoot my tank with and without WAL's.

I got the GEN3 yesterday. It talks well to the other two (2) gen2's I have over my tank. Seems to perform equally as well as the other radions, and I like the sleek new look.

I recently added 2 Gen3 Pros over my 150. Replaced a MH/T5 fixture. Attached is a picture of the lights on my homemade bracket, and lighting schedule. So far I really like them, but the proof will be in the continued growth and coloration of the livestock. I really like the ability to have some very low light night viewing. My favorite benefit so far is the extra space in the canopy for top down photography and top down viewing. This wasn't a possibility with the old fixture and didn't even equate in the purchase decision. These lights are dead silent compared to the fans on the old light when the T5's kicked on. Not to mention the heat of the 2X250 DE MH's. JP

Lights hanging in canopy - Since this picture was taken I have spread them out a couple inches to give better spread across the tank and cleaned up the wiring some. Once I'm satisfied with the schedule the usb cable will come off.
