I am looking for a way to mount 3 xr30 lights over a 240 gallon tank. The tank is euro braced. Ideally I would hang them from the ceiling but I have a drop ceiling. The only other option I believe is the multi light rms track. If I use that system the feet will just sit on the tank. I don’t think the rms arms will mount to the euro braces tank. The rail would also stop me from using a hood which I really would like to use to prevent light flooding my family room. Mounting to a wal won’t work as the area behind the tank is open and will serve as a kinda sorta fish room. Any ideas how to make this work with a drop ceiling?

Thanks. I may try making a bracket from some pipe. I think I may be able to mount the pipe to the sides of the stand and still have room to slide a canopy on and off.

Putting the lights on a track and then hanging the track (as mentioned above) by putting in a couple lines THROUGH the ceiling tiles to solid anchor spots should work fine and look great. It's just a couple very small drill holes in the ceiling tiles. It would actually look pretty slick

I hung my three g5 30 blues individually and I'm kicking myself that I didn't do all of them on a track. Would have been a cleaner look and my slight OCD tendencies always have me fidgeting trying to get all three lights the exact same height.

The RMS feet just sitting on the tank edge has worked fine for me
Have 4 xr30's on my 160gal(redsea 650) & had no worries like i thought i was going to have of tipping it over.
Been mounted that way for 4 years & no problems

I almost forgot one other option. It's what I did years ago with my MH and T5 lights, I hung them from inside a canopy. If you want a canopy, just string them to the top of it.
