Has the fish been fighting with another fish? It looks like damage and also appears that the areas are becoming infected.

A rally bath for 90 min in a bucket is a great place to start. May need to follow up with antibiotics.

Rich how's the foxface?

Thanks for asking...

The open wounds are covered over, very little swelling tbh. Eating, flaring, moving around. Looking better already. At this pace, the fox may heal up before the ruby reef gets here. lol

Mine had got a spot on his side from what looked like a rock scrape. was gone 2 days later.

Much better tonight. Glad I got it into QT. Check the bites out of his tail. Ugh.

All these losses and issues with fish just makes me realize just how little I knew when I started last year. And makes me very anxious and excited to actually plan out my next tank, and have a slight idea on how to do it right. From day 1. Will be years down the road unless I just set a nano up in my next temporary dwelling. Pad. Or maybe I'll just build a generator and mount it to my trunk and I'll live out of my car and turn the glove box into a tank.

Not. ;)

Have there been more “bites” in the fins since in QT? Ragged fins can sometimes indicate flukes, could explain the secondary infection as well.

But, could just as easily just be aggression.

Any excessive yawning, head shaking, or scratching?

That looks more like he's getting beat up by another....

Yea that's what I'm thinking. The yellow and zebra randomly bicker and tail slap. But it's over quickly, every time. And then all 3 go about grazing as usual. That's what I'm referring to (along with all the other lessons learned), when i plan my next tank, i can actually know what fish, in which order, with which corals, etc etc..

Thanks for stopping in. The concept of flukes didnt cross my mind. But I could do a fw dip if I notice anything pop up and follow with prazi. Thanks for the idea to look for as well.

No more bites that I have noticed. I dont wanna leave it out of the tank too long and have issues upon reintroduction if it's nothing to worry about. Will keep a close eye. There was never any shaking, yawning, or anything. Still isnt. No signs of rapid breathing either. So maybe he was just caught in a fight for a sleeping spot or something and scraped himself in the confusion and shuffling in the rocks with the lights out.

I hope the Fox Face continues to improve, it won’t be a bad idea to hear the more experienced members. [emoji1360]

Thank u sir, agreed. I feel hopeful for a change that it should be fine.

Nutrients are climbing. Really annoyed I havent heard back from SeaSide Aquatics about the new skimmer impellar assembly. It's been almost 2 weeks now. Last reply was "Dont order a new one, I spoke to my manager and we are sending you a new one for free"

dot dot dot. Hopefully it arrives soon. I havent gotten anything tracking-wise. Sigh.

Thanks,

That is actually one of the $10 trash bin test pieces from one of my LFS's. Back when I got the monti's and the bonsai. There was a buy 3 get 2 free sale and I figured it was a good time to run a cheap SPS trial.

Here is the day I picked it up:

That's a top down shot of it that you were referring to in that photo dump. No name, it's a @najer - style rescue. Very happy with the spread and growth pattern. It's just off center of the hydra pucks (To avoid the hotspot) and it really shows the potential of the hydra 26hd's. 360° growth. Super happy with them and the AB+ schedule, which I tweaked a touch. Mainly bumping the reds and greens per the recommendations from @Rakie (my acro and I thank you kindly sir)
