It's a big frag with a lot of Red on it. We paid twice that for our original piece in 2019 and was honestly one of the best business moves we ever made. No two pieces are the same so from a collectors point of view, it's worth it.

Our original frag

Also grows super fast for most people.

I'm not trying to be a hater, but I don't personally think this coral is all that. I mean, it's different and kind of cool, but not $1,200 dollars for a frag cool IMO. Is it just me or...?

You are obviously making this post to discourage others from bidding so you can win the auction for cheap! Caught with red polyps on your hands! 😂

Great piece but the price is a bit much. Im selling a frag of it part of a high end pack for a fraction of the price.

Its a nice acro tho.

No. Sure its cool looking. But No. the majority of the bids are between 2 people especially after the $200 point, I'd be interested in knowing if the one who wins actually pays.

I'm wondering if most of the people who pay these prices are just other coral business owners. The problem with this as an "investment" for your business is that if you're not one of the first to the scene with it, the price you pay will not be the price you are able to sell it for (at least not for long). All corals go down in price over time.
For example, does anyone here remember when new chalices were going for crazy prices, like the JF My Miami? I remember seeing single eye frags going for over $1000 that first year. Now you can get that coral for under $50 for multiple eyes. Same with so many other corals.

As a hobbyist, you just have to wait it out. Eventually prices will come down to a point that is more affordable.

A couple of years ago spliced sps corals was a rare thing now I feel like everything is splicing and has dramatically dropped the price on these frags. I currently collect spliced pieces and just picked up a spliced pink Cadillac and a spliced palette pink tip for $90 each. I keep hearing stories how sellers are actually having a hard time selling spliced pieces.

IMO anything over $200 is a hard pass these days

heck no, that is priced like when it was first available for sale. it was probably the feeling of a bidding frenzy and wanting to outdo the other guy...

it's a cool piece (have it), but realistically wouldn't pay more than a couple-3 hundo for it, and even then that's pushing it. there's plenty better looking coral to be had for far less money.
