No - you need to use synthetic sea salt!

I'm attaching a basic introductory article below and strongly suggest you do some more research, either google or use youtube if you don't like to read. Not know if we use table salt for our aquariums is a serous lack of the most basic hobby knowledge, we have to be responsible to the animals that we keep. Good luck

Sounds like the OP got this tank second hand and is doing his best to keep it going.

Having said that, if, this is the only fish in the tank and it somehow doesn’t make it, I’d serious considered draining the tank, cleaning it with citric acid, rinsing it well and starting over with a new cycle.

Re your fish… do you have any local fish stores that maybe would offer a QT service so that you could bring it in, and get it stabilized and treated while you work on your tanks parameters.

As Mojo has said, 1st priority should be to save the fish if possible, but sounds like you were tasked with something before you were prepared for it.

This hobby can give you many rewards but it can also frustrate you to the point of giving up. We don’t want that to happen so please watch a lot of new tank videos until you get an idea of the basics you will need to be successful.

There are many great resources here on this forum as well, but if this is your 1st foray into salt water tanks, the best chance for your fish may be a more experienced LFS that would be willing to QT your fish for you.

Hello, thanks. I won't do that then. Do you know if I can put an upside down bowl in there to sit the rock on. The current rock is not very big and so if I put it on a ceramic unpainted bowl then it will give the fish more shelter. Hopefully it will also make the fish a little less stressed to eat some food.

my clownfish don't use shelter they sleep on my red sea reef wave i do not think its the rock

could be oxygen i dont see much surface agitation add a air pump and see if that makes a difference there about £10 from amazon they come with batterys and everything

Pull some tank water in a cup mix in some salt, I’m not going to say I know exactly how much and slowly pour back into higher flow area or pump chamber

I could be wrong, but i got the impression he got the tank second hand and saved the water from the move, and just set it back up with the original water.

Just to clarify so you get the proper advice did you already add table salt to make the saltwater you've been adding to the tank? If so is the salt Iodized?
