Raising a stand

This is a bit earlier then I wanted to disclose, but already I have questions. I will start a build thread soon on this. Currently I have a 120 built into the wall as seen in the pic. I am adding a 240 on the stand next to wall creating a 90 degree two tank setup. The 120 is 26" tall and the 240 is 24" tall, so there is minor differences there, but I want them to march height as close as possible. I figure the easiest way is to raise the stand.

I have thought of 1 1-2" galv pipe in 6 places as "feet". Thought of a 2*? bottlm skirt. Wife thought of some type of block. I don't like the block idea personally

Any other thoughts?

I've never done this but here is a suggestion. Build a base out of 2x4, 2x6, 2x8 and set your stand on it. Use what ever brings the stand up to the hight you desire.

Yup, build a 2" wood frame to put under the stand. the more surface area touching the floor, the better weight distribution.

That's what I was leaning towards as well. Confirmation is what I needed.

I would make sure that when you build the base to raise it up that you match it with where all the structural support is with the stand. Meaning if there is a vertical divider somewhere, make sure have the same at the same location with what you are building.

I was thinking that as well. I will probably build it more as a wall section 16" on center.

What i said is a must because think about it, you have all that weight up top and it's transferring down into the stand, if there is no support under the original supports it will bow, sag, or whatever.

Not debating that a bit. With the amount of weight this tank will have I am not going to under build.
