I wanted to start this discussion now because I have some ideas that I would like to bounce off some folks before I start cutting lumber.

I have a 8x2x2 acrylic tank with dual overflows. I’m going to build the stand, which by itself isn’t very complicated. This is where it gets tricky.

I am currently running a 75 gal lagoon flat, this I started up to get a bunch of rock ready for the 240. It has a sump under it and is basically a well running flat. With it having the same width dimensions as the 240, my idea is to add it under the 240 along with the sump that’s connected to it and use both as the filtration for the 240.

I thought of increasing the stand height for the 240 to add additional room for the 75 raised a couple feet off of the ground. This gives me the ability to add lights under and use the 75 as more then just a place to plop in a skimmer, heater and media.

My mind originally went to a huge refugium, but that’s where I’m looking for additional thoughts or ideas. Keep in mind that the sump for the 75 is also planned on being in this mix as well..

Let me know your thoughts, if you have any. Thanks!
