Razor Goby

Anyone here keep one of these? I picked one up today at my LFS. Seen photos online and in magazines, but never seen one in person before today.

Already eating mysis after being added to the quarantine. Don't mind the cloudiness, just did a major water change before adding the new fish.

Here are a couple pics from today. So far it doesn't try to hide at all. Swimming around and eating really well. Reminds me of a mini oarfish.

Yep had one for quite a while till my tank sitter forgot to close the lid. Very similar to tilefish in terms of behavior

@Fishfreak2009 Do you still have the razor goby? How well did it do in your tank? My LFS has a few in stock right now, so I don't know if I should grab one and hopefully get it to buddy up with my two tiles.

Mine is gone unfortunately. Did fine until a power outage wiped out most of the fish.

Oh no! I'm very sorry, that's heartbreaking. It looked like a really fun fish.

I just placed an order for two. LFS told me the second one isn't eating and is getting thinner, but I'll try to nurse it back to life. I only wanted one, but figured it had a better chance if they stayed together, since they only have two in stock. May find it a good home later if both make it.

I'm still planning on another tilefish in my 75g (got two now doing great), I'm not sure how all five sand burrowing fish would work out, as four was my original limit, but we'll see!

They're home, and they're absolutely stunning

Feeding video. They're both eating well. The smaller one in the corner comes out and eats first, then the larger one comes out and finishes the rest.

Also, I noticed some tail nipping definitely took place while they were in the holding tank at the LFS. Glad I grabbed them both!

Well, interesting observation. The gobies are getting very used to the feeding tube now and line up at the surface every time I feed them. But I noticed today that the larger one has started nipping at the smaller one, especially during feeding. It's a bit surprising because I've seen them sleeping together in the same pipe many times before today.

I'm going to give them another day, and if it doesn't stop, I'll probably set up a divider and only keep one!

I can report no more nipping! They cuddle now 24/7 in the same pipe
