Hey! Can anyone help me understand why this particular anemone looks this way? I have 14 RBTA’s of all sizes and all of them are super healthy looking except this little guy. Any ideas or help is much appreciated.

Thank you! 🙏

Do you do water changes? I’ve had “weird” anemone tentacles before and it was either due to a sudden parameter change or missing some trace elements

I do my regular water changes. It’s been about a week since the last w/c. It started looking like this maybe a day or two ago, at least that’s when I noticed it. All of the other nems in the tank look happy and healthy so it’s weird this is the only one. I was thinking maybe it wasn’t receiving enough light but I don’t understand why it wouldn’t move higher. All the other nems have moved over time and found places they like except this one. It’s been in the same spot for the last 5 months since it was put in the tank.

I just checked levels and all are acceptable for this tanks normal numbers. I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary to trigger an unacceptable number.

that is odd, I have experienced it but really no idea what causes / fixes. For me I thought it was a trace element imbalance and did water changes / doses trace. It would also happen if I put a nem into a brand new environment , like shock

My nems don't like water changes they go in the huff. But a couple of days later they are all happy again. Bta can be sensitive to changes flow/ lighting/water chemistry. In my opinion bta anemones are hardy
