I am ready to begin plumbing my non tempered 60g cube. I have a medium Eshopps Eclipse overflow, and a Neptune Cor 20 return pump. I built a custom 75 gallon sump and have plenty of room for drain back from display plus a check valve. I’m going with 1” schedule 80 and return will be a 3/4 Locline. My question is where to place the return and overflow. I have the guide for the overflow box so I know my height but should I center the overflow and put a return to one side? I only planned on a single return but should I make two? Or should the overflow be on one side and the return on the other? I know a lot may be about aesthetics but I’m curious if there is something I’m not thinking of.

Shoot man, the world’s your oyster here. Do you have a plan for the scape? Off the cuff I’d lean dual returns.

Scape has been built and tank has been cycling for the past 3+ weeks. I plan to drain to drill. Any suggestions on the depth I should drill the returns?

I’d think as high and tight as you’re comfortable with the side and top edge distance to the cutout diameter. I used 1” as a minimum distance to top/side edge.
Turned out great!
