See my post above: “The main aquascape consists of 43 pounds of live rock plus 5 pounds or so of miscellaneous rock islands or pieces along the base.”. I have the live rock sitting on pieces of flat Marko Rock which helps give it a little more elevation. My display tank is 59” wide is 24” deep and 112 gallons.
Ok. Sorry. Didn't see that. I know you were in another thread talking to me about my 0 Phosphate problems. Do you recommend this rock? Do you think it would help? If so, how much would you add to an 80g display that already has some dry rock?
This Australian live rock is the best looking rock there is whether dry rock or live rock. One thing that sets it apart is the high porosity of the rock. An equivalent pounds of Australian live rock covers at least double the volume that you could take up with the Marko rock or the mined rock TBS and KP Aquatics sell (I have ordered from them previously so I have the direct head-to-head comparison).

I got a mix of decorative and branching rock, full of coralline, macroalgae, sponges, and filter feeders. Colors are beautiful. Observed it in the below holding tank for a few days then straight into my 48g display and 20g sump while I wait to set up my new system (yes and my tank/sump are now stuffed with this stuff). As others have said, while this rock is very expensive, it is extremely light and particularly with the decorative style, the architecture of the rock is such that you get way more volume per lb than traditional rock. I probably have 50-60lb of non Australian rock in my system and the 25lb in total I have purchased of Eric’s rock is probably equivalent or greater in volume. Good stuff!
Good question! I think the structure of at least the decorative style is such that it can be stacked into interesting structures and remain stable so I may just do that.So appreciated! Try glue master. Use the thin with some sand to bond it together. Cures in seconds. Wear gloves bcs there is a chemical reaction. Also open a window. Works great!
Definitely looks to be a cucumber. Not sure what kind but I’m not really aware of any “unsafe” cucumbers outside of general potential toxicity if they get caught in a powerhead. I could be completely wrong though.Had this hitchhiker come off my rock last night and onto my glass, looks like a type of sea cucumber! Hopefully it’s safe for the tank lol!
