So I’ve seen it used before and I like the look and how it can get covered in coraline algae. Also being able to have a lot of flow without going bare bottom. I already have an established sand bed but is thin. anyone with some experience long term with this kind of substrate? also how would you go bout swapping it out? maybe a bit at a time?all at once? cover the original sand bed? maybe leave a thin layer of the original bed?

I would love to use it on my up coming 150 gallon build. However I think the price would be thru the roof.

Ya it’s pricy I have a 35 and think I could do maybe three of 4 bags. It could slow for mushrooms or zoas to grow out into the substrate. I’m sure it would need a good vacuum every so often but no more then my sand does now

I am doing this on my 400 gallon tank so I can have high flow see how it works, not sure if I should put a thin layer of live sand down first

I just added Tropic Eden meso flake to my 250G and it’s staying put. Have 3 MP40s and 2 gyre 4ks and a varios 6 going.
