Your pH was going as low as 7.0 with a full 1.0 pH unit swing? That is super extreme.

Did you have a skimmer on for that part?

How low was the alk?

No the skimmer wasn’t running. My I’ve been running right about 7dKH. I moved the tank last weekend, and did an almost 100% water change.

The stuff from Amazon. I think it’s jorvet? That FOH scrubber holds a ton of media and my skimmer is small. We’ll see how long it lasts.

Ok, so the comparison includes the effect of the skimmer and not just the scrubber. Still pH 7.0 is incredibly low for any reef tank. Aeration must have been quite poor,

I’ve always run a skimmer on this tank. I drained it to move it, and didn’t get the skimmer on for a few days. Yes, the pH was very low in the middle of the night. I added the skimmer back and then installed the scrubber the next day.

It’s all from Fish of Hex. The scrubber is way bigger than the nano skimmer. I’m hoping that means the media will last longer….

No. I bought the IOAOI skimmer. Then I bought the recirculating adapter from FOH and I bought the scrubber from FOH. I just had him 3D print everything in blue, so it kind of matched the skimmer colors.

The big chamber is a moisture collection cup. It has a float switch in it if it overfills so my Hydros can shut the skimmer off. To avoid sucking wet soda lime into the tank and crashing it.

Here’s from the manufacturer, hopefully I’m allowed to post the link. He can explain it better than I can. But basically that moisture collection cup is supposed to catch all the moisture. It seems like a really good design.

I’ve been looking at the fish of hex website that sells these and the valve sensor, the apex comes standard, but you can order one with hydros if you want.

That’s the hydros float sensor. You have to buy it separately, it doesn’t come with it like the Apex sensor does.

Yes, you just specify the Hydros sensor. You have to buy the Hydros sensor though, it doesn’t some with it. The fit and finish is really good!

Thanks. I thought it was running to the inline valve. I guess there's two things there. A line running to the float sensor and an inline check valve?
