I want to add a light in my sump to grow some cheato. I prefer LED for the low wattage and long life. Any recommendations for something basic and not to expensive?

What about those home depot LED bulbs? Not like im worried about how the cheato looks.

I use a cfl bulb, it works ok that's about it. The only fixture I can think of off hand is from reef breeders not sure what its called though. Other than that maybe a par38 bulb. The HD bulb is $20 and ice heard it works well, haven't gotten around to trying it yet though, paid 4 for a 4pk of the cfls. Lol

Yeah cfl stil uses over 20 watts usually. If you run it 24/7 it adds up over time in comparison to led. Just a matter of dies the algae care about a certain color

I use a LED bulb from lowes. It cost $12, and is like 3200K I think. It grows my chaeto like crazy! I cant remember the brand but look for one that is in that price range and has a cluster of 3 LED's and it says on the box 3200K.

Perfect. Thanks
