Recommended Alge Turf Scrubber?

Hello ,what type of alge turf scrubber is recommended for my tank ?

It's 750 liters reef tank , will be heavily populated and fed several times a day.

I run a @SantaMonica surf 4x (I think its a 4x) on my WB 330.7 and am happy with it. I added it a start up and wanted to run a cryptic zone so I needed one that doesn't have a lot of light spill. Some I saw look liked bright glowing orbs. Its a floating unit and runs on an air pump vs needing a water pump which I like. Cleaning is as easy as removing the lid and pulling out the algae. Bonus for me is my tangs love the algae it produces so I no longer buy nori.
I get a container like below every 5-6 days.

I used the surf2 for many years, up until approx 2 weeks ago. You can check my build thread. Every photo in there is my tank filtered by the surf2. I don’t use mech filtration and I don’t do water changes

I feel my corals load increased over time, along with the feeding for them and my fish, and I pushed the limits of the surf 2. Recently moved the surf2 to a different tank and upgraded to a surf4 on my main reef. Neither tank uses mechanical filtration, water changes, or a skimmer

What about trace elements ? Cal, alk and Mag?

Alkaline is tested and dosed every 6 hours via KHGuardian and diy all mix made from baking soda and rodi

Ca and trace from sealab 28 dissolvable bricks

Are you using mechanical filtration in your tank ? Filter sock , roller mat ?

I run 200 micron socks.

If you want recommendations - you need to specify amount of feeding you are going to do.

Both BRS and Santa Monica put in their specs amount of frozen cubes per day you going to feed.

Some people feed 2 for 200G tank and some 6 for 30G…

So just count cubes and take a peak…

I had Santa Monica floating, drop in and on a glass - the best performer for me was floating one.

I have never ran a scrubber. I have ran a fuge with great success.
After controlling no3 with a sulfer reactor I now carbon dose with vodka.
Simple and easy to control no3 and some po4. I still use gfo when needed for po4 control.
My 150 currently uses 12ml a day all at once. No3 is easily kept around 5. Po4 runs .1-.2 but sits around .05 currently.
Prior to starting vodka no3 was 25 and po4 .2.
I feed heavy 4-5 times a day.
I like vodka dosing because it's easily adjustable and no equipment or power needed unless you set up a auto doser.
It might be worth a shot before spending money on another piece of equipment l.

My refuge is basically a massive algae scrubber. Run it opposite the light cycle of the tank balances out ph swings. You have to run your No3 and P a bit higher if you do not feed heavily, but the algae grows so fast it prevents these from spiking. In the high feeding scenario you don’t have to worry about algae outcompeting the corals.

Interesting. The much maligned sealab blocks. Hey what ever works. Can't argue with results.
