Hi everyone!

We are some what new to this amazing hobby! I have been trying to research this red algae or seaweed on our live rock, however, cannot seem to find anything specific? Can someone please help us identify it? It is growing like crazy and if it isn’t good I would like to remove it soon.

Thank you for your help~

Thank you Jose,

That is what I was thinking, but couldn’t find a picture close enough to it to be sure. Reading on it, it sounds good for the tank and it isn’t spreading, just getting big. I did read that it can compete with Coral for nutrition, does that sound accurate?

Thank you again~

Yes. Although they are not "invasive" algae, they should be kept away from corals not only by competition for nutrients but also by possible physical and allelochemical interactions.

Regards
