instead of pulling the airline on my skimmer I always just take the cup off and let it over flow back into my sump. That way my O2 levels do not take a hit from having the skimmer off for too long.

now that's a great piece of advice right there. that's what i do whenever i do water changes and don't want to disconnect or turn off my skimmer

so i dipped all of my acros and as of now i dont see any red bugs and all my acros are fine will no ill effect from the Bayer insecticide. i now have nice pe on my acros some of which i haven't ever seen pe. every thing is coloring up well even under my all t-12 vho set up. for me the Bayer insecticide gets my vote its easier to obtain and when used as a dip you cant beet it.

Good deal.

Glad you had success with it.

Keep us updated on whether you see them emerge again or if they go away completely. I've read where some have dipped frags/colonies in Bayer, and the red bugs actually don't go back to the piece. Possibly from residual leftovers of the bayer?
