Red fire fish has dark spot and trouble swimming

I have had him since early June and has been doing good. I got a new cleaner shrimp and torch coral yesterday. I got the fish out to rearrange the tank and then kept them back as soon as I did the fire fish went to the bottom and didn’t move. This morning I found a dark spot on the side of his body and he was very inactive and had trouble staying upright.

I just looked for him and found him on the side of my filter dead. But I would still like to know the cause of it.

Looks like a bruise/contusion. Are you sure you didn't hurt him when working in the tank? Firefish like to quickly dart into a hole in a rock and will sometimes scrape themselves on it.
