Red hair Algae

I picked up a piece of live rock from my LFS to cycle my tank about a year ago, I put it in my fuge and it’s covered in red hair algae. It’s only in my sump and hasn’t made it to my display (that I’ve seen) Any reasons for concern or any benefits? Not to familiar with this type of algae
