Hey,

I think I already know the answer here but hoping someone might prove me wrong.

I've 3 red legged hermits. 2 small and 1 medium. Recently rehomed my sand sifting starfish and need something to help clean the sandbed. Thinking of a conche, but will my red legged hermits kill it? I read elsewhere that certain hermits will go for certain snails etc depending on the shell opening?

Thanks!

So report back! How did it go? My opinion is, you cannot trust. Hermit regardless of size. I have a blue legged which are more docile than reds, he will kill anything in his path. Today I saw a white chunk of meat floating around. Assumed one of those blue legged Hermet killed one of the few remaining snails, alas I looked closely and that chunk of meat had blue legs hanging off it! Inspected the tank and found another blue legged attempting to get another smaller blue from his shell to kill it.

My clowns will go after them when they get in their area. At first that bothered me. Now, if a clown gets one of those, I had 10, my quote will be from rocky 4… Ivan Drago “If he dies, he dies”
