it came fully assembled, so i literally just slid the thing in and that was all she wrote

i also installed an In-Tank media basket once i removed the old skimmer. this is exactly how i have this thing mounted in my rear chamber with the identical "in-tank" basket

for media i am using chemi-pure blue, seachem matrix, and purigen. currently i am in the process of dialing it down a bit with the chemi-pure and going to go with the elite instead. i also have a black, coarse filter sponge and well as the white, fine filter floss pad in there

sand, rock and water went into the tank

I used some aragonite sand

live rock went into the tank

I also clipped on the gourmet grazer to hold the food for cycling

*keep in mind all that this is a short version of the "tale of the tank" at this point we are now in April of 2016

Today I installed the ATO and mounted the apex

at this point we are in may of 2016, tank has cycled and is good to go. here is a FTS when everything was said and done
