I just mixed 1 kg of Calcium+ powder in 1.8 L of DI water. The solution is tan and a bit cloudy. Is this normal? I know there is more than just calcium chloride in the powder but I was expecting a clear solution.

It seems to be normal, at least that’s what mine does to. As you say it’s like a tan colour, and you usually get a bit of powder settled at the bottom of the dosing container.

Thanks. Yeah there was definitely a bit of precipitate remaining.

What do you do about the heat when mixing?! Wow, I didn't realize it got so hot until my container was melting and collapsing. I ran cool water over the jug and everything was ok (except maybe chemicals were released from the plastic container that wasn't intended for cooking). I was planning to mix up the calcium solution while my jug sits in cold water in the future.
