hey everyone!

I was wonder two things when using coral pro salt. The first is if I choose to keep the salinity at 1.026 will that cause the levels to be to high since they recommend 1.025? Second if I do weekly 5 gallon water changes in a 60 gallon without any corals present will it cause my levels (alk, cal, etc) to climb too high?

Some reefers have complained that their alk levels got too high with RS coral pro (black bucket). So some have mixed the blue & black bucket to get the benefits of both without the high alk.

The Red Sea Coral Pro is designed for Accelerated growth which is why all the parameters are raised.

It can also make it easier for beginners (and anyone) to manage a reef tank with just water changes and minimal dosing especially if combined with the ABC+ skeletal elements

If you don’t want the higher levels I would go for the standard salt but you will probably need to start adding foundation elements as well.

I’ve used them both, Coral Pro for over 12 months on the Accelerated growth program and now the standard salt. They both work well but it depends on what your trying to achieve
