Red Sea LED 50 or 90???

I have a red sea max nano peninsula 26 gallon. It came with the 50 watt light. I picked up a 90w light for it because I caught a deal on it. Is it pointless for this tank? Is it too much for this tank? I have searched and searched and can't find any answers. I was always under the assumption the more light, the better.

It depends on what you plan on keeping. The main thing is the larger light can produce the same par as the smaller light but while running at a lower percent. Meaning the par output of the small light at 100% might be the same as the larger light at 50%. Those numbers are just an example, I don’t think it translates exactly like that. I also believe running at the lower percent would extend the overall life of the light.
