Just picked up 3 Red Sea LED 50s for 200$ with mounting arms, my question is; I have a 12x12x12 nano reef in my front room, I have yet to borrow a par meter to establish parameters of light with this new setup. Do you think a really low acclimation for 14 days to like 50-60% intensity would be good until I get the par meter?

Oh I know they do. They will easily put out over 400par. But I couldn't pass up over 700$ worth of lights for 200$. Lol right now I have them at the obove spec. Which I feel from look is way less than I had on it. But looks are definitely deceiving.

For a tank that size you only need 1 light. I have 2 led 50's over a 48*18*18

I think you might blast that tank with light with anything more than one. Just sell two of them and profit :)

This is what I got with two over a 36” long tank. This was under 45% Blue and 5% White. Try to ignore in between the lights, they converge and amplify which you won’t have to worry about with one light.

I’m planning on putting one on a 15x15x11 and I’m worried about roasting everything.
Anyone else have one of these on a nano?
I was going to start at 25% blue and 12.5 white to be safe

Hi, I have the LED50 on my Red Sea Max nano, its an awesome light, very powerful, I'm still fine tuning mine. I run a 11 hour schedule with the usual 1 hour run up / down. 70% Blue and 17% white gives me the look I want, I have had to switch the blues down a little as I was getting too much light on my candy cane which has stripped some of the flesh off of the skeleton, I know its lighting that's caused it as there is a clear straight line down the edge!

I suppose it comes down to what the light is to be used for SPS or LPS. IMO the blue levels you quote are very low, most of the PAR comes from blue.

Thanks, I guess I’ll have to dial the intensity back quite a bit. The max nanos I believe are 18” deep? This is just a fun little side tank for the office (reef case studio) 12g and is only 11” deep
i suppose I can’t go wrong with starting really low and keeping a close eye while slowly going up.

Just going to put some frags like zoas, ricordia, acans in there from my main tank so nothing requiring too much PAR
