Hi, new to reefing here. I have a red sea max 26 light currently in my 20 gallon tank. I want to upgrade tank size but want to know if this light is still enough or not? I'm very new so please speak to me like I'm a child haha. I don't understand stuff like par and what not.

The main question with lighting is, are you planning to do corals? And if so, what type?

Also, how much bigger is your next tank going to be?

Hard to say without knowing tank size you’re aiming to upgrade to. Though obviously if you’re going big like 180 or 220 it’s clearly not enough light

I was thinking about a 40 gallon tank. And yes I plan on doing corals. I have lots off different corals currently, from bubble coral to zoas to mushrooms to birds nest.
