I sold my last large marine reef tank fifteen years ago and recently bought a Red Sea Max S-650, a 175 gallon system (150gals in tank, 25 gals in filter).

The filter design is a bit diff. then the wet/dry system I used by "Life Reef". This RS system has a Protein Skimer a large sump, small plateform for charcoal & sponge, and then flows to a chamber containing a sump pump. I added a JBJ 1/3hp Chiller and set it to 79F to compensate for florida weather and the light system which comes with the setup.

I am interested in hearing back from RS owners about how they improved their systems?
Thank you,

I love the red sea max, such a slick design! But I don't have one, so I can't help
