Hey there,

I Just learned that nitrite can influence the nitrate test result. Depending on the manufactor there should be diffrent conversions on how nitrite changes the measured nitrate value.
But I couldnt find any information regarding that on the Red Sea testkit

Does this also apply to the Red Sea Nitrate Test (marine test kit) and if so how to calculate it?

Thanks!

I’ve always heard that any nitrate test that turns a pink/red color is effected by nitrite being present. I have absolutely no idea how or if you can adjust the reading to compensate for the nitrite.
If this is on a cycling tank then why not just wait until your nitrites have zeroed before testing nitrate. If it is an established tank you’re unlikely to have nitrites present.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
