There's going to be way more, and then even when (if) tariff issues are resolved then the greedy retailers will continue with the higher prices for quite some time.

Ya, prices never seem to come down once they go up no matter the reason.

I happened to notice the price increase because I was shopping for a gyre today.

Which ones ?

Well I like their gyre much better than the maxspect one I had.

Reef matt seems super popular but can't say I tried it.

The blue bucket salt is pretty nice.

That's all can remember.

Jebao Cross flow is better and cheaper
AF-1 and ClariSea is better then Red Seas Reef mat. The optics gets clogged up and the app obligates you to run more fleece then you need to

It is cheaper but I do not find it to be better. It is a copycat of the maxspect which I hate :) though not because of it's performance.

It’s not run by optics just saying

I have it in my tank and so far Im happy. My friend has a Red Sea and it gets clogged and the flow shuts down very quick. All these gyre type are copies of Maxspect but some are built better then others

That’s also not a true statement they aren’t copies they are different versions used by a similar design and max spec wasn’t the first gyre also yes the Red Sea version of the reef Matt is really not that bad, can definitely tell you have no had their products, I run all Red Sea products it’s not any better or worse than other companies if anything it is better than the cheap versions

The red sea on disassembles different, build quality seems fine. I don't have the issue your friend does, clogged? Maybe algae growth?

I only went back to gyres when the reef wave came out. My beef with gyres was their disassembly. I suppose I should have vortechs but dry sides go to heck quick.

I use Jeabo sow's on my QT tanks but won't touch another gyre besides red sea just because how well it assembles and disassembles. App has been great so far too though thats not why I bought it.

Really! The first Gyre type was the Maxspect and all the rest are just copies with some variation but the same concept. Even Red sea dosers are crap. I dont use there stuff since my doser went bad because of there wifi dumb boards.

I wouldn’t change the gyre flow for a vortech I like the cross flow the jebao Cross flow generates for sps.

Yeah when I mean clogged its with algae and that slows it a lot compared to the Jebaos

The jebaos are simple to disassemble just take the caps off and pull the rotors

my point of them being a copy was the jeabo is almost 1:1 copy of maxspect so I would personally not buy it.

Not that there is anything wrong with it but Red Sea has since improved on it addressing the annoying disassemble that I hated so much and the app so far has been very smooth.

I am certainly not brand loyal as I use Red Sea gyres with tunze power heads on the back and a jeabo return pump.

Reefmats don't rely on optics at all. They rely on conductive probes which is why the unit does not function in freshwater aquariums at all.

I'm sure there are variances in peoples experiences based on use case but your statement doesn't match mine at all for filter rollers.

The reefmat easily out performs the clarisea in ease of use and maintenance.
(It formerly had a price advantage but I would pay the current $5 premium to use it over a clarisea)

I can't fairly compare it to the aqua ready af-1 line since I have no first hand experience with that unit but it looks like a bubble magus. If it is infact the same (or very similar) then I can say that the reefmat design is worth the premium price either way simply because it's a huge pain to change the roll in comparison to a reefmat.

For what it's worth, the reefmat is one of the few things I'll praise that company for product wise.
