Red Sea reefer 250 ##PICTURE HEAVY##

Got this lovely picture while at an LFS of the Houston Texas area!

My girlfriend and I, while visiting her family this week in the Houston area, decided to go look at what the area has to offer for reefing!

Saw some pretty cool stuff so I figured I’d share!

Had a lot of fun today but can’t wait to get back and set up the new tank!!

** UPDATE **

Working nights this week but couldn’t stand to wait. Gonna have to have a coffee over load tonight!

Results!

Woke up to flash flood warnings and was not very happy..

But didn’t let that stop me from at least going to get everything!!

The tank came in later than first expected so my help is gone, so I’m recruiting my shift partner from work to help me move the tank&sump in tomorrow morning to set it up. Don’t want to chance all that in the rain by myself..

But! I did get the stand and other goodies in today and put together!

Merry Christmas to me!!


Game plan is to wait for my colored PVC from BRS and my new 4 stage RODI plus unit to come in on January 2nd then get this baby wet ASAP!

Got the tank inside and got this beautiful system starting to come together!

I’ve got a lot of little foam pieces I’ll have to get out but I couldn’t sleep until I at least started putting it together.

Well had my first run in with issues and the tanks not even wet yet.. my skimmer won’t fit in the sump with the refugium baffle in place.. so I’m gonna have to either order a new skimmer or cut the baffle plate holders out and re-silicone them into place to make room.. another issue is I had a small piece break off of my skimmer when I started assembling it..

That’s a bummer! If you get a new skimmer look at the deltec skimmers on @Battlecorals website. I’ve always wanted a deltec!

Great! I’m working on getting everything set up! Work has been delaying the process but new skimmer will be here next week and the plumbing and other goodies hopefully tomorrow! Sunday will hopefully mean water and aquascaping!

The best time to get packages of reefing gear is on the weekend! Sadly, the fun usually causes them to fly by too quickly.

It’d be better if I wasn’t working this weekend! Haha UPS won’t leave a package outside my apartment or even on my back porch so I have to try and get the apartments maintenance team to bring me packages while I’m at work.. they forgot yesterday so it looks like I can’t plumb or set up my RODI station until they bring it to me. Not gonna lose hope though!

Going to a heavily stocked tank! Mail didn’t get delivered like it was supposed to yesterday so I’m having to wait a few more days for water.. but I’m going to add

2 black ice clowns
1 purple fire fish
These I already have in my 16 gallon biocube.

New
1 Christmas wrasse
1 Mccoskers flasher wrasse
1 Flame angel
1 Midas blenny
1 Royal gramma
1 Two spot goby
1 Long nose hawk fish


If I stick to this with no impulse buys that’ll be it fish wise.

For corals I love LPS! I am starting a torch coral garden and going to get into some SPS corals!

Anyone have an recommendations or comments based off stocking list? I’m always open for ideas and stuff! Any favorites in your tanks?

After everything getting here late for some reason I finally can get water in the tank and plumb it! Hoping to do that in the morning when I get off work! Supply store didn’t have all the plumbing items I wanted so I had to piece some stuff together.. don’t think I’ll be happy with it but at this point it’s all about functionality [emoji28][emoji23]
