Just received and installed my new Red Sea RSK600 and it won’t stop overflowing. The adjustment dial is at the lowest setting and I have my water level under the red “water level” tape. Is there a break in period before this stops or am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated.

Hi! Yes, it's doing that because it's not broke in. I suggest taking it out and running it in a bucket of citric acid, or vinegar for a few hours. This will remove the oils from manufacture.

I ended up emailing RedSea and they advised me to raise the skimmer up until it was not overflowing anymore, which meant raising it up about 3.5”. It was sitting it 4” of water and skimming wet for a couple of days. After a couple of days of wet skimming, the skimmer calmed down and I was able to lower it back down to 7.5”. Now I can adjust it like normal and it’s skimming like a champ.
