Lol
That's why I'm still waffling, even at a $300 off sales price.

I just could not justify that price to value. I got 2 Jecods controlled by Apex and 1 is ready to jump in in the case of need and still have $1000 in my packet. Do not get me wrong, Abyzz are awesome pumps, from what I read, but I can't justify the price. It is still a single pump which can fail. I rather spend that $1000 on corals or fish. :)

Thanks for your input and taking a pass on the Abyzz.

Certainly in Europe you get a 10 year warranty on these, I’ve been looking at the a400 for a potentially bigger system. I think basically it’s the same as everything you get what you pay for, and if it’s what you want go for it

I quiet like the idea of several of the ecotech Vectra with the battery backup systems in place so I can’t yet decide.

At the moment for the S650 I have a spare Red Sea main pump so hopefully still have many years use out of those before I need to replace them, but it would be nice to have a feed mode option to turn down the flow for feeding etc.

The new Sicce Syncra SDC 9 look good as well Freddie if you haven’t seen them.

Shaun,
I wanted the Royal Exclusiv 80watt dc in 2017, but they quit making that model.

I might go with the new 100 watt, but lol it's really big.

To me the Reef Octopus VarioS DC pumps give a lot a bang for the money, with great reviews.

I do have an original backup too, and staying put at this time.

Freddie

Can one of you guys or gals post some shots of the down pipes and filter sock holder?

;Snaphappy.... ;Wideyed

Mine just came with sponges.

Just using the 225 micron filter sock and pull it around both down pipes.

Thanks... :)

Can you post some overhead shots, looking down?

I still can't see how the water travels from your down pipes thru your socks???

I think you’ve looked at this before as I posted some pictures and you can’t do it in your system. The water comes down the pipe and then up and over a barrier into the socks. You’ll just have to buy a new tank Freddie! No socks, no overflow combs..... lol

If you still want them I’ll scramble on my hands and knees for you and take some pictures.

Can your down pipe water, bypass your socks or the sock holder?

I have never got to see the newer S-Series sock holder design.

@ibondy I did the same though with a different orientation. Did you put anything in the old drain compartment? I was debating some rubble or Brightwell bricks.
Yes, I filled the area with 1/2 cubic foot of bio-cubes. They went into socks area and also in the center area with Clarisea on the top. I am returning my UV/Chiller flow in the socks area for a gentle flow over cubes.
