Red Sea Sump Valved Downpipe

I have a red sea xl 300, and I want to replace the terrible OEM sump valved downpipe (part #R42512) that has the ball valve and replace it with a new gate value.

To avoid hard plumbing, can I just buy the sump valved downpipe (part #R42512G2), from the new G2 Reefer 300? Will it fit?
