I am using io salt. I tested my ALK and got 11.2 the other day. But I am planning to do a full all, call, and mag test to start dosing if needed. My question is this. Do I count the amount of liquid used to turn water blue as part of the ml used. Or do you turn the tank water blue then count the amount of ml after the tank water is blue? I just want the most accurate test to see if I need any dosing yet.

You need to know the amount of liquid left in the syringe after the "pink goes blue" and subtract that from 1 to use to determine the kh value on the result card.

Ok so the first few drops to turn the water to the beginning color are added to toal amount used. Then subtract from 1
Correct. But no need to pay attention to those initial drops. Just fill syringe to the 1.0 and determine the total amount used.
