Red Sea Test Kits

Does the expiration date really expire when the product has not been opened?
I found a Red Sea Test kit way behind some stuff while cleaning up and it has never been opened but shows 2018 expiration date on it...

i take the expiration date with a grain of salt, but not beyond more that 3-6 months tops. after that, i expect the margin of error potentially widens. false readings are ultimately detrimental.

others may be able to chime in on which tests are better past the expiration date vs. which tests have agents that just aren't going to react well any longer.

i feel like i'm tossing money away when the reagent bottles are still half-full lol. :(
