I have the start of Red Slime. I'm 4 days into using Waste-Away. This morning my lights came on and I'm seeing stringy black stuff on some rock and coral. Any ideas?

Siphon away the mats daily and replace the water you remove with freshly mixed saltwater.

Keep an eye on your parameters and develop a pattern for maintenance, feeding, etc and be consistent.

It's always best to approach cyano with a natural approach in my opinion, chemical removers can throw off a tank's balance and cause other issues. Usually if you get rid of it using a natural approach, it won't come back for a long time whereas I have heard of folks getting cyano again in a month or so after using something like chemiclean or some other chemical red slime remover.

Brush, siphon, or blow with a powerhead, to clean off the rocks.
