Greetings and welcome to the reef! Can you provide some pics of where you're currently at with the scape? That will help us give better feedback.

Hi guys. Trying the HNSA aquascape as seen by Ryan on BRSTV in a Redsea 170 using dry marco rock.

Any thoughts on this current scape?
Doesn’t look like the video is uploading or playing so here are a couple of pictures.

I like it. Nicely done. My one bit of feedback, and it is minor... It is difficult for my old eyes to make out how much clearance you have between the sides and the glass. I would just make sure that you have enough room to clean. Otherwise, it looks good. Go ahead and get that build thread going!

Thank you.
I have 2 inches in the back, so I can clean the glass and 3 inches on either side of the glass to allow for cleaning.

Obligatory sump under construction photo.
Wasn’t planning on running a skimmer but got one as an early Christmas present.

Luckily the custom tank baffle I made a while back out of plexiglass fits perfectly to still make a small refugium section.

Would have preferred setting it up post skimmer but this should still work.

Kellsil H80 installed on refugium side of sump. Originally I was gonna use a gooseneck but can’t get the angle right with the skimmer next to it, so a custom mount on the side above sump will have to do.

Custom baffle, should hopefully work as the idea is to still allow as much flow through this area as possible but keep chaeto and other algae away from the skimmer.
