Looking around for some fish ideas for the nano. Probably go with the safe and easy… but… then part of me wants a challenge.

Originally thought this was $60 until checkout.. kind of bummed. Cool fish but out of my price range.

The other one that really stands out is the cold water Catalina Goby.

I know, I know they don’t survive long term because of their low temperature requirements… However even in public aquariums that keep temps at 60 their lifespan average is two years. And I’ve read where people keep temp at 76 with Catalinas living two years. If anyone has any experience with these please chime in! I’m willing to drop my temp 0.5 degrees to accommodate these guys.

Thought I would post a link to my Noo-Psyche k7 v3 settings in case anyone wants to put out some par. I believe this is close to 700 par at water line.

Did you research the PAR measurements of natural sunlight? Cuz I did and that’s the shape I remember.
I did look up natural sunlight over a reef! It’s close. I noticed some difference but with all the channels I just wanted to keep it symmetrical.

Been awhile since updating. Sad I didn’t make it to the LEAR fragswap today in Cleveland. Hoping everyone that went found some goodies.

Switched my LED settings… for the last time.

After looking at optimization with Radion G3 I sat down and worked out the spectrum settings to be similar with Noops. It looks pretty crisp in person and is supposed to mimic the old 14k phoenix 250MH bulb.

Also might as well do a FTS here.

Hooked up Ozonizer to skimmer. This unit I have used in the past. I just open it up to bypass the air pump and hook it up to my skimmer intake.

Came at a good time as the copepods I introduced also introduced hair algae. Have been running for about a week now and hair algae growth has pretty much stopped. What is left the turbo snails are quick to munch.

Neptune ORP is different than Milwaukee ORP meters. Neptune is slow to adjust and cannot support ozone control. As such I have decided to pulse ozone for 5min intervals every four hours through my skimmer. This works out to treating 120 gallons of water every day or roughly 4x my entire aquarium volume.

Bought a diffuser for the Noo-Psyche! Took three weeks but finally arrived. The company off AliExpress shipped the previous model which was a terrible disappointment.

Terrible experience in customer service as I wanted to mail it back and get the correct size but could not get answers so disputed the charge. Alibaba and its forty thieves decided only to refund 50%. This diffuser wasn’t cheap and IMO was sent to me wrong as this model isn’t even available for sale (bait and switch).

Sadly no other company seems to make a quality diffuser. Now my question is do I make the mistake of ordering another in hopes the result is different?

here was my nano getting a water change.
These nanos with sumps were really nice. I’m not sure why the manufacture stopped making them for just the all-in-one models.

That’s a nice Neptune setup you have there! You end up keeping it or is that available? :)

Thanks. i upgraded the tank to a 170 g2, which is sitting exactly where the nano was, when i built the nano i ran out of working room in a hurry, so the other half of the apex (832, fmm, breakout) is in the rodi cabinet to the left of the tank hahaha.

i just think a lot of people are turned off by the idea of a sump in such a small volume… i just feel aios are far too limiting. The nano was the perfect size to succeed, and have some cool tech ;-)

There is just enough room in the sump to make it worthwhile! I have an oversized skimmer, filter sock, heater, ATO, and dosing lines. Keeps the display looking clean and sharp.

Trying a few new settings on the light to see if I can find a better setting for photography.

Watch that six line! I had one in my nano for about 6 months and it went absolutely ape ****. Clowns were hiding in their anemone 24/7, firefish hiding, blenny hiding lol.
Every one is different, hope yours is kind! They’re absolutely beautiful, and beneficial.

Thanks for the heads up. The six line may get meaner but I think that Midas blenny will be there to rule them all!

Nice tablet setup for the apex, and nice tank - the wall art is cool also!
