If you get a pair of clowns, they will be fine with other fish breads, maybe OK with other male clowns, but will fight with any other clown female. Just went through it in my tank with 3 clown pairs. I have just a single pair of clowns now and all is peaceful in the tank.

Also don't get maroons as they are definitely more aggressive than other clowns!

That is the common wisdom, however, I can't validate that, my female ocellaris beat up female maroon pretty bad, and I had to take maroon out of the tank. I have this maroon in different tank with few other fish with no issues at all.

Well, a pair of ocellaris juvenile (i.e., male) will work well - one of them will turn into a female as they mature. A group of ocellaris juveniles means trouble - generally once the strongest/biggest turns female, the smallest/weakest male gets picked on and eliminated (either killed or removed by the aquarist), followed by the next weakest, etc... until you're left with a pair.

This is quite different than in at least some natural circumstances, where the dominant female is attended by several smaller males. I'd guess that at some point someone could have a large enough tank where a similar situation would develop, but I'd be really curious as to exactly how big of a tank that would require...

I've had reef tanks since the 90's, and recently tore down a custom ordered 225-gallon last year for a Red Sea tank. After decades of DIY woodwork, pvc plumbing, and building sumps out of old tanks, it was nice to get something easy to assemble and up and running quickly. And I didn't feel any compromises were made to do so(well ok, the stock ATO sucks) . I really like the way the V3 sumps are designed. I recently picked up another Red Sea tank. the E-170 with rear compartment sump. My only gripe with Max E-series is the skimmer is loud. But the build is good. Back in the day, we DIY'd a lot because we had no choice. It's really nice to be able to get a well designed tank and just focus on the biology. I have not seen a Waterbox in person, but I can wholeheartedly give a thumbs up to Red Sea.

Looking for a 20 gal nano , after hearing all the discussions ,
Looks like it comes down to availbty to me , or flip a coin. Heard a lot about the cost is same, but looking at sites it seems like the WB is less expensive at least for the 20gal range. Has anybody know anything about
Lifeguard aquatics tanks in the 20 gal nano range?

This is something that has baffled me. I have read so many times how much cheaper the WB is, but whenever I have looked them up, they are priced right between the comparable RSR models. So RSR is actually cheaper if you go with the black stand (my preference).

I saw this, and while I really feel bad for the guy, I can't imagine WB would have handled it any differently.

The way I see it is Red Sea has been around for over 25 years. They created the Reefer series and a couple of years later WB comes along with basically a carbon copy with some minor improvements. If I'm going to drop some serious $$ on a tank, I'm going to go with the company that's been around awhile and has a proven track record, but that's just me.

I did not mean to imply that WB is a bad product, I just see no reason to not go with the "original".
Have a RS 750 xxl and a WB 20 nano cube. I’m happy with both.

I have a redsea biggest con is plumbing, if you want to custimize to a different sump etc it’s a pain in the *** on the metric side converting it to standard

I have see a bunch of articles on here about waterbox silicon being to thin and causing leaks. On reefer had 3 different tanks sent to him

I just got a innovative marine int-100 and love it. In the process of the BRS/WWC 4 month cycle
Still liking that IM int-100 mate? I'm looking at this.

red sea owner here. the plumbing SUCKS, like really SUCKS! if yiur the kind of person who just wants to set uo and that it go reefer. but i have never met a serious reefer like that. Red seas decision to go metric and wonky with plumbing was bad. I am in process of trying to add a rollermat sump and its a nighmare. additionally you will alway be bottlenecked to 3/4" (metric equivalent) on return. so triton method will never be a choice.
Cabinets for RSR are lackluster. they do not inspire confidence
i wish i would have knkwn about wb when buying. for those if you saying go with redsea is a big company. they are concerned with making as money as possible.

I have had both and on my opinion I feel the build quality of the Waterbox is
Better, but only slightly. From what i have read, Red Sea has started building their stands our is real wood which is a pleasant change. The plumbing and valve used in the Red Sea Reefers was not my favorite.

I run Red Sea’s Reef LED 90 on my Waterbox Reef 70:2 cube and also use the Red Sea skimmer one that tank so I’m by no means a Red Sea hater.

I don’t like that waterbox tanks have the back chambers and a sump.
I just want the sump.

I had a Red Sea reef 250. I just helped my friend set up his waterbox tank (130gal).

Display tank- Water box is much nicer. The all glass overflow is very nice. The dimensions are perfect, although now Red Sea is making deeper tanks as well.

Sump - honestly I don't like either of them.

Stand - I like my Red Sea stand more. just seems to have a higher quality build.

I’m in the market for upgrading my aquarium and I’ve decided on either Redsea or Waterbox. On the surface they both appear very similar.....if anything Waterbox appears like it might have a few advantages but I know Redsea is far more popular.

Does anyone have any thoughts or experience on the differences between these Aquariums?

I have a 2 waterboxes now. I have had red sea reefer350 before. Waterbox has better overflow and better plumbing. Very clean aquariums for both. I prefer the waterbox. Both great aquariums.

Haha yes she says she wad making thay face because the sun was coming down hard that day I just like messing with her, she's cool with the whole situation except maybe that I've spent close to 8k already and I'm still missing rocks and a rodi system to set it all up this is also our first aquarium so there's also the whole "why'd you have to start so big" but I figured if I got something small I'd eventually want something larger so might as well now right?
Part of the deal is she wants clowns in there which weren't in my original plans but now I must include them.
I think I will be in a similar situation in regards to tank size and how my wife will be saying why this big. I dont have one yet but I am currently going back and forth in choosing either the 220.6 or 180.5. How is the peninsula? im having some thoughts on it if it will fit better in my living room as opposed to the reef pro.
