I would like to address this rumor as clearly as I can.

The app as it is right now- with full cloud based control- is, and will always be, free to use with our lights.

As far as premium features go- that's for new and advanced features only, like bluetooth control, intelligent acclimation, etc.

In addition you can own those features outright with a lifetime license.

We're a small business that made a big investment and put a lot on the line to introduce new features that we think our users will love. If you don't feel that the new premium features are worth it for you, you don't have to use them. We have a fully functional and easy to use free version, and that will never change.

Our app is already one of the best and easiest to use in the industry- and we will continue to improve and maintain the base features already included with our app at no additional cost to you.
I just got my meridian and this light is killer so far!

anyone know if a single 24 would cover a 36”Lx20W . This is going to be a Lps tank so i don’t need super high par, just nice coloring?
Easily. My Meridian 11 covers my 24"

I am so on the fence with spending the money.
I have the photon v2 pro 48 now and wanting the Meridian 45
Just read a few post up but it comes with the wifi and app right
What are the premium controls ? How much does this cost.
Anyway waiting for a check now for weeks and just so on the fence about spending 1700
Convince me !

I don;t know if I can convince you. But I want from 4 Redsea ReefLED90's to a Meridian 63. So yeah, I just spent the $1750 on black friday a bit ago.

Aesthetically the change is massive to the overall look of the tank.

Clearly more control over light bands from the redseas.

Love the moonlight feature.

I see your "issue" primarily being that the proton v2 is already a dang solid light. I don't know I can say this specific upgrade is worth it, unless you have the money and just want it.

In my case upgrading from Redseas to reefbreeders is a clear upgrade.

It’s not just WiFi and the app. The spectrum is different. The channels are different. The meridian can hit colors and combos and spectrums physically impossible from the photon

I’m a former photon 48v2 user who upgraded to meridian 11’s and edge bar 45s.

The photon v2 was awesome. I’d recommend it. I’d use it. But, I like the meridian setup much more

As my tank arrives tomorrow, when they say mounting distance is that from bottom of tank? Mid? Top?

I do have a buyer for the photon so that helps.

If you can swing it then get the wifi because unlocking two channel gives you full spectrum control

Or you can add the WiFi upgrade down the line if you want to save money up front
When you buy the light it does not come with wifi it is an upgrade ?

Regular Meridians comes with Wi-Fi, but the edge bars you have to choose whether you want Wi-Fi or manual.

Question. Would i be better off with the 45 or go with the 35 ?
I have a 120 4 foot long.
Was going to get the 45 incase I ever go bigger.

They both would work but the 35 would be pushing it. You would need low par items on the outsides of the tank

You could do the meridian 35 and the 45 edge bar

100% correct. I just moved my two 24" Meridians to a 6' tank and decided to get another one to blast the sides as well. I plan on sps across the top from side to side and needed more par on the ends.

Vintage, you'll likely hit 20,000 messages today. 🥳 And thanks for all the advice on the Meridians. Loving mine.

Ya sticking with the 45 thanks !
Cant do the edge bars yet but I should be fine

Just added a Meridian 11 to my two 24's on the WB 230.6 (6' tank). Wall to wall coverage and can independently control the 3 sections. Very clean with the ICS bars on the center. Loving the lights.

Still need to refresh my lighting, sold on the Meridians. I have a 72x48x30 reef tank it has a eurobrace in the middle so I am thinking about getting 4 meridian 35 fixtures total. I am hoping it gives more light than the current quantity 8 XR30 G4 Pro lights that I have on there now. Think the 4 meridian 35 lights will be enough for an SPS dominated tank? I am not using the full footprint of the tank as shown in the picture below:

My assumption is that these put off much more light than these older g4 pro (XR30). These things have been running about 85% since 2017.

Here is my tank:

Guarantee you won’t run these lights above 30% they’re the strongest led’s out there
