I added reef epoxy to my aquarium yesterday to Mount new Coral’s. I woke up and two of my clown, fish and my goby were dead. The parasite flat worms that don’t cause any harm or all dead on the sand bed. Coral seems to be fine.

All leveles were good yesterday and now something wrong with the tank. Must be a huge swing for the fish to die

Sounds like some water changes are in order. What brand epoxy? Was it mixed thoroughly?

Will the coral be okay? Fish is gone, oxygen was for sure the reason.

I did a 40% water change and added a new carbon sock in the filter. Hoping the coral makes it. Just got Montipora in there yesterday. You can see from my post yesterday.

Corals need oxygen but they use much less than fish do, the corals should be fine.

How long will it take for the epoxy to cure? I don’t want to add more fish if it’s going to keep leaking chemicals.
The directions on the epoxy you used may state cure time so that is best bet. Most of the epoxy used in reefing consists of two parts which you mix together. The level of water pollution can vary significantly from one brand to another as does cure time and bond strength. I have not seen any two part export that does not start to cure within a few minutes and is in its final state within 24 hours. Whether the export continues to leech chemicals after that I don’t know since I have only used epoxy to build or fix aquascape.

If attaching coral to rockscape in tank most people use superglue.

My Coral seems to be fine, but I tried to put another clown fish in, and it instantly was shocked. I have no idea what the epoxy has done to the oxygen or what chemicals they’re releasing, but the Coral is completely healthy. Just no fish seem to be good.

You should probably try to switch out even more water and run carbon as well. Seems like very bad reactions so probably worth taking more measures in addition to increasing oxygenation.

I did a massive water change this morning about 50 % and added a new carbon sock. My tanks super small too so I thought for sure it would be good by now. Do you think I should do a huge water change again?

If you have the water you could remove the livestock and do a near 100% water change. Just depends on what you have on hand and how much effort you are willing to put in. One nice thing about smaller tanks is it is feasible to do very large water changes.

If I was you I would also remove the epoxy and remount with super glue.

I have a ton of zoas and montis one torch

Everything seems super happy all my levels are steady too

It’s just something about fish and the water I can’t seem to wrap my head around the fact that the coral is fine but the fish instantly were shocked. I moved the fish to my other tank and the one seems to be fine

What epoxy did you use? I don't think I have ever seen any putty that wasn't 2 part and required thorough mixing/kneading before use. The "2 part" can be in a single stick, with the catalyst/hardener wrapping the putty. There will be 2 distinct colors present in the unmixed stick.
