Maybe I got lucky. I'm waiting on my Archon to arrive and hope to get it installed this weekend. I'll see how it goes on that system with the PB8/PB4

Nathan, the PB4's and PB8's have circuits built in to help with the back emf pulse from the low power pumps such as the Aqualifter. I now use the Archon myself. I am one of the original beta testors. When it was shipped to me they did not have the PB4's avalible. So I have PC4's instead. Check out my build thread.

Nathan, you can get it setup to your network by just plugging in the Archon power pack. You won't need to plug any modules in till you have the networking all setup. If your current system has a NET or RD1 module these will need to be removed before connecting the Archon to the modules. Also the RKE or RKL head unit will also need to be removed. You will have to reprogram everything on the Archon once you have it hooked to the buss.

I must be missing something; why are you using your controller for your ATO?Not sure how you're calculating the dosages of fresh RODI as this varies and with all the trouble you're going through with the controller, why not just buy a legit ATO vs makeshift pump/controller setup? No hate, just trying to understand! ;)

My Archon controller controls my ATO pump. It has a timer plus a float switch. The timer is set to add a little more than needed. The float shuts it down when full. It would take awhile to get to overfull if the float sticks ( Several days). If it did stick on I also have a overfull float switch along with the full float that will shut down the ATO function. Why buy a separate ATO when the capability is already built into the controller. The RKL is a little different the float trips the timer and the timer runs to the end then stops for the off time setup in the timer. It will not turn on again until the off time expires. Then the float will trigger it again.

I guess that's my point; I have a reef keeper lite and I know that controller alone will not suffice as an efficient ATO by itself, thus you mentioned a float switch. In that case yea, makes sense, the float switch is where I was getting lost. Each setup is different, to each their own.

CodyRVA, you may be right. After reading the OP's original post it doesn't sound like they are using any kind of float switch. As you suggested it is not a good idea to use just a timer.

Yea, I mean... ATO demands depend on on your house temp, weather, etc.. timer alone will spell disaster, hence my confusion.

There are several versions of the RKL that are sold. Some have the SLX module that does have 2 switch inputs. If you do not have that module it can be purchased separately or one of the other module with switch inputs can be used also.

So far for me none the channels work with my aqualifter. So the only thing I can do is power cycle the pc4 every 2 days. Not convient.... But I really want to dose my kalk slowly and in small doses often.

For me it's saturated kalk I'm using partially as top off. Too big of a swing as a regular top off. Slow at regular intervals is what I want in my case.

You may have an issue with you timer setup. Can you post your timer settings for the channel you are using.

Starting at 8am I have the timer set for 59 minutes off with 1 minute on no delay or standby. I don't really understand what I'm doing wrong. That's the way I get by most of the time in life really. Fake it till I make it. Lol

The time exceeds 24 hrs. You have it running 25 times that is 25hrs. Make sure total is less than 24hrs. Try repeat 23. The first time through is not in the repeat count. You may need to shave a few seconds to make sure . If so try an ON time of 59 seconds instead of 1 minute and see if that works.

I did wonder about that. I'll try repeat of 23 times. Thanks
