Best approach seems to be to set yourself up with online sellers with the "notify me when in stock" option. Usually sells out in a day.

Definitely not true. A buddy sent me a message it was in stock on Facebook messenger, I didn’t see his message until 30 minutes after he sent it and I was still able to go on a buy a few buckets. This doesn’t even take into account that he might not have sent the message right when it stocked.

I’d agree with that. I never got the notification either. But saltwateraquarium.com sent one, and I ordered from them.
