Same here. Looks like I will have to be persistence if i am going to get this taken care of.

I have a strong feeling this came about from some eggs I missed during the dipping process. I am definitely adjusting my approach and steps before I put in new frags going forward from this experience.

Sad news - I had to take out my purple monti as it looked like I had dipped the coral too long while trying to kill off the nudibranch last week. It lost all it's tissues.

Good news - I did picked up a small six line wrasse late today to help with pest control and containment. He's only a been in a few hours and already comfortable exploring the place. Being the smallest next to the yellow watch goby, looks like the power hierarchy will alright in the nano. Still a little concern about space but there are many hiding places for all of the fish.

Hope since you got a small one that he'll be peaceful...I've heard the six line can be a gamble aggression wise. Gorgeous fish though! How long do you think until he outgrows your tank?

Yikes, you will probably be ok until the 6 line is settled. After he settles in 6 lines are unholy terrors. I would pull and try a possum wrasse or if willing to re-home a small yellow or melanurus.

Yes I am gambling to a certain respect. He's currently the smallest in the tank.

time-wise I am not sure. I just need 2-3 months with no sign of nudibranch. With the other tank coming up, I'll have room if needed to figure out the best approach.

I will be keeping an eye out for sure. Definitely knew what I may be getting into. At this point he's in.

While I am looking to terminate the nudibranch, the cerith snails are mating. Here's a the pic of one of the cerith snail laying it's eggs in stringy cruves fashion on the frag rack. Will look to capture better pic next few days.

I don't have much hope these eggs hatching but will leave it alone and see. I just got to remember to not drain the water too low when doing weekly water change.

Pair Frostbite Clowns Moved
During feeding yesterday, it took me about 15 seconds to moved the pair to their new home in the IM Fusion 20. I was able to do this as I hand feed them regularly. Before they knew what was happening during feeding, they were both netted at the same time and placed into the other nano tank without a fuss :D.

Given the unplanned six line wrasse addition, I knew it was crowded in the tank with the following residents:

• Lawnmover blenny
• Six line wrasse
• 2 frostbit clowns
• yellow watchman goby
• pistol shrimp
• peppermint shrimp

WWC SPS Frags :rolleyes:
Two weeks ago, WorldWideCorals (WWC) had offered a special collection set of beginner SPS coral frags (8 frags). I took the opportunity to try WWC for the first time and I am impressed.

After I had moved the pair of Frostbite clowns out from the tank, I took the opportunity to take some shoots frags. So far all pieces are doing great. Some had some macro algae growing on it initially but one cerith found the frag rack and over a period of 2-3 days took care of the cleaning nicely and in the process laid some eggs as shown in a post earlier.

I also took the opportunity to grab 1 additional piece called WWC Bejeweled Favites with the order.

We'll someone seems to be telling me to-do something else with this six line wrasse. 1 week and so far it has not been a problem...especially now that the two frostbit clowns moved to the other tank. During today's water change, it got suck into the water tube for being curious. I wasn't planning on catch him or anything. It just got curious and inadvertently got suck in.

Anyway he's look good and may be a little confused by the ordeal. I currently have him in a 1 gallon holding tank until tomorrow when I can take him in to the LFS.

Livestock wise the tank only has 2 fish (yellow watch goby and lawnmover blenny), 2 shrimps (peppermint and pistol) and 1 emerald crab and few cerith and trochus snails.

I am going to hold out for Pygmy Wrasse, Possum Wrasse or Pink-Streaked Wrasse. I just placed a 1 pygmy wrasse into the Fusion 20 and just found out they are out of the small wrasse.

Nothing new has been added recently due to the Monti hungry nudibranchs issue. I did however had to removed the peppermint shrimp (details explain below).

Nudibranchs issue:
Up to this point I have been just maintaining the tank while slowly week by week migrated non-Monti corals over to my 20G nano. The 6-line wrasse seemed to be keeping the nubibranch in check although I am still loosing monti slowly. Six monti frags had been affected so far: 3 had been lost, 3 are currently impacted.









Peppermint Shrimp issue:
As if that was not enough, the peppermint shrimp had been picking and eating a number of the Acans! You can see those identified in the pics below. I have seen multiple times the shrimp just ripping through the Acans for food. This is mainly due to the fact I don't feed the tank as much as when I had the clowns in the tank. For weeks I had seen him doing this. It's frustrating as I just could not catch him until just last week. He's now a non-issues and the impacted acans are now recovering.


Other than that the tank is stable.

One Year Later - July 29, 2018

It's a been a year since my last update. The nudibranch issue had caused havoc in the tank and add in bad maintenance habits and lack of motivation on my part has left it pretty barren.

Bad news:

• The majority of the monti were wiped out. Just recently only those that survived is it showing sign of recovering.
• A number of acans and polyps also slowly faded though a few remain.
• Algae has gotten a hold of the tank. I have the last several weeks started the slow process of getting it out of the tank.
• Only the goby remain :(

The good news:

• Started the slow process of bring it back. Will look to nurse it back. It's not my top focus as the Fusion 20 tank is though.
• Will keep in barren and only with remaining inhabits. I do not plan to add any other corals unless it's a transfer from the other tank.

These are unique designer clownfish. I was not planning to buy anymore fish to be honest. They arrived at the lfs and from first glance i noticed they were different for sure. Figured this will add interest to the tank short term. The plan here is that these will pair over time. One is slightly bigger than the other so it's a start and hopefully will avoid who will be the female. Long term I am plan to replace this with another Fusion I have NIB. For now they're so small so I have plenty of time.

It's been 6 months since the last update on this nano. Overall I think the tank is doing well and looking to really take off now that coralline algae is taking a good foot hold and nuisance algae is almost all gone thanks to reef flux treatment.

At this point i am using the tank mostly as a spill over tank for the Fusion 20G nano and dumping ground of sort for those I don't keep in the other tank. As you can see it's a little packed in there :D.

A number of changes from top of my head:

• I removed the sand bed and had to adjusted aquascape
• Removed the refugium. I think this helped removed some of the algae I had going on.
• Took out the skimmer and added Intank media basket. Intank media basket are in both 1st and 2nd chambers. Just wished I did this sooner. Tank is so much quieter.
  
• 3 fish remaining: black storm clownfish, yellow banded possum wrasse, yellow watchman goby
• Nudibranch seems to be gone; it did wipe out all my montipora corals unfortunately

It's Fish Friday! :D Inhabitant replacement for the tank arrived today. I know it's like double dipping since I just updated my other thread.:p

• Yellow Banded Possum Wrasse
  • So I had another one just recently but out of nowhere it just completely disappeared. No body..nothing. I still to this day don't know where it went. I searched for days but there is only so much within a 13G tank to hide. It could have been eaten my of the coral maybe...Elegance or Cynarina. IDK
  • I like the tiny fish. It's shy in everything it does and is very peaceful. It does have personality and is not as active as a six line wrasse. The last one I had was eating almost everything I feed it. Hoping this one will have similar appetite.

I hate to admit this but I just lost my new Yellow Banded Possum Wrasse :(. Just got back after dinner and the poor little thing was on my wood floor. Such a shame...

The tank is opened.

I am open for suggestions on a top. I prefer not to have one due to air and light impact it may have on the tank but I may have to bend to keep certain fishy in play it seems. I heard of Clearview and know it's a premium price for one. Anyone with experience of it on a Fluval Evo?
