Reef Sharks Disappearing?

Ban shark finning worldwide or at lease manage it better. Sharks are still considered bad fish. I think back to the 70's and 80's when you had shark fishing tournaments in the U.S., big great whites being harpooned off floating whale carcasses, piles of blue sharks being brought in. Now white sharks, among others are protected and you have a good chance of actually seeing a white shark up close off a New England beach..which obviously some people would find frightening.

My friend does a lot of fishing in the Sea of Cortez out of a kayak, really far from shore. He doesn't worry about sharks because they have been severely over fished in that area.
 
Shark finning is the biggest culprit for the decline of every shark species. It needs a world wide ban. There's no reason for it other than older Asian culture that won't stop eating shark fin soup. Human species is destroying the planet.
