Reef tank with Beach/Shore built in?

hey guys been wondering if it could be done,

im thinking of setting up a reef tank with a cascade and a built in artificial shore/ beach setup on the other end, wavemakers pointed to the shore waves would come and go, the shore would also help on skimming out debris and such like an actual beach shore.

it would be neat if its possible!

Did this ever come to light?

Talk about waking the dead on an old thread! LOL Cool concept but it would have to be approached like an actual ecosystem. To keep the sand in place, there would need to be a root system like we use sea grass on dunes. Overall, great concept - lots of work.
