ReefBrite TECH LED: Tech model vs XHO model

hi everyone,
i am looking to add one of those reefbrite led strips to supplement my ati 8 bulbs t5.
those that have experience on these strip lights, could you please provide some inputs , should I buy the tech model or the XHO model?

I've had a good experience with the XHO version. I've never used the regular version but the XHO is definitely bright!

What are you trying to achieve by adding the LEDs?

Not exactly sure what i really want to accomplish. I had bad experience with led in my early reefing years and have been using t5 since. With that being said, my mind just cant get over the led, does not matter how hard i try.
I am definitely will be the last person to go full led.
Because of that i like to try just the led strip for now. I see alot of people using 8x24w t5 on their 93g cube, they all have some sort of led attach to their t5.

I though it is kind of cool to look at a tank at night with just the led on .

I would go XHO if you are going with Reefbrite. Another possible option is buildmyled.com. If you go with them you can add different "blue spectrum" leds. Only thing is I don't know if you could retrofit it to the ATI housing. I actually run a 2 reefbrites and 2 buildmyled units over my 75gal tank and both are good units.

I have a XHO and a regular tech model as supplement on my 8 bulb ATI. The XHO is much brighter. The tech model had a hard time cutting through the t5s. I ended up taking the tech off and just use 1 XHO now.

Is the XHO has the black casing?
Just googled and found out there are several version of the XHO. the day light, the actinic, the 50/50.
So which XHO one did you have?
